Naturmega & BIOS Foundation Advance New Clinical Study on Phospholipid Omega-3 in Colombia

BIOS Foundation, in collaboration with Naturmega, a Colombian company specialized in advanced lipid science, announced the progress of a new clinical study to evaluate phospholipid omega-3 formulations against conventional omega-3 in patients with mixed dyslipidemia. This research is part of a broader scientific agenda focused on the development and clinical validation of new lipid structures in nutrition and cardiovascular health.The study is a randomized, double-blind clinical trial registered at ClinicalTrials.gov, spanning 24 weeks of intervention with more than 100 participants and conducted under international ethical standards. Key parameters include omega-3 incorporation, metabolic health markers, and cardiovascular indicators, all assessed against a conventional omega-3 comparator in a mixed dyslipidemia population. This trial is part of the scientific roadmap of Ruby-O®, Naturmega’s next-generation phospholipid omega-3 platform. A first study published in BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies (January 2026) reported a 34% greater improvement in the Omega-3 Index compared to standard fish oil at equivalent doses. The new trial will expand that evidence base in specific cardiovascular populations. The study will be conducted under international standards, strengthening the role of domestic clinical research in advancing new nutritional technologies. The collaboration between industry and clinical research drives science generated in the region with the potential for global impact. Additional studies are currently in development as part of the Ruby-O® 2026 roadmap.
